Pre-Columbian artifacts donated to Union University are on display in the front of the Emma Waters Summar Library for students and faculty to enjoy. The objects are from many ancient civilizations including the Inca, Nazca and Chimu, which were located in the Andes. The purposes of many of the artifacts are unknown, but some are believed to have been used for religious ceremonies. A ceramic whistler in the shape of a puma may have been used as a prop in ancient ceremonies for holding liquids such as oil.
