Bon Appetit

Here lately, I have been tracking down the good cooks — online, that is.

The internet is simply brimming with wonderful recipes and talented chefs (whether legit or self-proclaimed), and you don’t have to drive anywhere to sample their work or communicate with them. It’s all at your fingertips. The best part is simply trying the recipes yourself, or altering them to your taste.

So, rather than give you an update on the latest food I’ve been devouring, I’d like to  give you a few links of some of my favorite online foodies. Your stomach will thank you if you check ’em out!

– First, you MUST visit http://abeautifulmess.typepad.com/my_weblog/. By far, it’s my favorite blog to visit. They post on a smorgasbord of  topics, from food to fashion. I’ve made some of their recipes before, and the food is just as good as it looks. If not better. However, I will warn you that not all of recipes are “Union friendly,” and I am not condoning all recipes on the web site. I’ll let you figure that one out yourself!

– Next, go to http://picsfood.com/. While not the most creative title for the website, the recipes — as well as the pictures — are noteworthy. Everything is subdivided into groups (desserts, coffee, etc.) so it’s easy to navigate.

– Last, if you’re just in the mood for some good writing, I suggest you go to http://gardenandgun.com/. As far as I know, they don’t have recipes in each story, but the quality and expertise of the food writers will be nourishment to your soul. You can taste the texture of the tomato sandwich. You can smell the apple dumplings. And the food photography? Unbelievable.

Enjoy!
