Claudio came to Union from a city right outside of Chicago. She has lived in Villa Park, Ill. all of her life. She enjoyed living so close to the Windy City and spent many weekends exploring the city life.
She chose Union because of the atmosphere, the friendliness of the community and the quality education. She ultimately felt that God was calling her here.
Passionate about children and education, Claudio hopes to become a 5th grade teacher.
“I plan on making kids awesome,” Claudio said. “I want to be a good influence on them just before they enter the crucial years of middle school.”
She is now a member of Zeta Tau Alpha, the computer science club and the physics club.
In high school, she was active in volleyball, softball, soccer, swim and gymnastics. She also helped out at her church with Vacation Bible School, AWANA and the worship team.
Claudio also spent time teaching children how to play the cello and piano; she has played both since she was young.
Claudio enjoys traveling. Both of her parents are originally from the Philippines, and she loves going back to see distant relatives.
One of her most recent adventures was going to Lollapalooza, a music festival in Chicago held at the end of July. The festival featured many alternative bands, which are Claudio’s favorite. She particularly enjoyed the Arctic Monkeys.
A few of her favorite things include sleep, ravioli, crew socks, alternative music, hot white mocha coffee and Batman.
“I want to make a difference in this world,” Claudio said. “In the words of Ghandi, I believe we should ‘be the change you wish to see in this world.’”
