Caitlin Roach, 2012 graduate of Union University, has stayed close to her hometown roots by starting her career in Jackson.
Roach grew up knowing that Union was where she was meant to be. During her time here, she was involved in many extracurricular activities. She was the president for Phi AlphaTheta, co- president for Sigma Tau Delta and also a member of Alpha Chi.
Roach graduated with degrees in English and history. Since graduating, she has taken a position at Younger Associates as a marketing service coordinator.
Her job consists of marketing for many different clients, including print material, web development and even social media.
Roach credits Union with teaching her the research skills that prepared her for her career beyond graduation. “I feel confident that I know what I am doing,” Roach said.
Her favorite thing about Union is the relationships that she has gained from the professors, and the fact that they have grown into friends and mentors for her.
Roach’s advice to graduating seniors is to focus on the big picture of the whole college experience.
“Don’t be afraid of more school if it is going to help you get where you are going,” Roach said.
Roach has worked at Younger Associates for two months but is in no rush to change that.
“I like not just what I do but what I see everyone else doing,” Roach said.
She believes that Younger is exactly where she is meant to be.
“There is so much that I don’t want to do, so the fact that I have found somewhere that I can be excited to come work at every day is very important to me,” she said.
