Regardless of what kind of day I’ve had, I can always count on one thing to improve it: a drive. Driving around, especially at sunset (my favorite), has the power to make a good day a great day, to allow you to clear your mind after a stressful day, to allow you to cry when you need to break down.
As a musician and songwriter, music has a monumental role in my everyday life. I’m the kind of person who uses music in her every move. When I have a conversation, it reminds me of a song nearly every time. When I think of a situation or watch other people interact, specific lyrics come to my mind. I’m always using music and lyrics, so it comes as no surprise that driving around while listening to music is one of my favorite things to do—a way to brighten my day or even an outlet to release tension.
