MOVIE REVIEW: ‘The Lorax’

Despite what is on the surface, when if comes down to it, “The Lorax” may just be putting on the mask of a cute children’s movie to get across the point of going green and the destruction of capitalism. It seems as though this movie is more about teaching children the business tactics of marketing and branding. “The Lorax” was based off Dr.Seuss’ children’s book that was published in 1971. According to the Rotten Tomatoes website, “The Lorax” was given 59 percent approval rating, but the audience seemed to disagree with 72 percent. […]

Student films shine at festival

The ninth annual Student Film Festival was held Monday and Tuesday evenings, giving students a chance to exhibit their film-making abilities and win a cash prize.
The festival was directed by Cam Tracy, web development agent for university communications, and Chris Blair, associate professor of communication arts and coordinator of digital media studies.Students received the opportunity on Monday evening to screen their films in the W.D. Powell Theatre and discuss what went into the making of their movies. […]
